National Association of Realtors® (NAR) cheif economist weighs in on how the recent U.S. credit downgrade ma affect mortgage rates. My local resources tell me that we will probably stay in the 4-5% range for the remainder of 2011. Right now I am seeing locks at 4.25% and some below 4% on 15 year loans. People who buy a house this year are going to look back on what a great rate they have, thankful for the opportunity they seized.

Home prices on the national front rose for the third consecutive month in June 2011 according to CoreLogic. I have attached the article below...
In Oklahoma home prices have remained stable for the past several years despite the national outlook. I have counseled with numerous Buyers and Sellers about the strength and endurance of our local market. Many people are surpised to learn this and it can be very confusing given the national statistics that we hear vs. the true local market.
